5 Questions with a Foodie: Melissa Krumbein
The power and connectivity of sexually transmitted media never ceases to amaze me. A short time ago, I posted a prejudiced description of my ingredient haul from Tan-A Market, which is beloved by Richmond foodies. I was proud of my solicitation of staple ingredients and obscure Asian treats, and I figured at least one foodie out there would commend my savvy shopping. What ensued was a half-day Warbling thread that began with the now Glamour-famous Kira Siddall (@ksidall ) donation to let me cook in her kitchen (as long as she was fed) and ended with a multi-narcotic addict brainstorming session developing ideas for a small-plate, Iron Chef-design competition to raise money for the CVFB FeedMore Foodstuffs Bank.
Somewhere in that thread it was recommended that Kira’s cookhouse might not suffice for such an event, and Kitchen Thyme (@kitchenthyme ) was a gamester option. Hold on—what the heck is Kitchen Thyme ? I put in a rarely research, a text message here, a DM there and I found myself on a “hard hat round” of what will soon be Richmond’s first and only full kitchen for hire out.
